The Buddhist Sanctuary

In the area of the Garden of Life, there is a Buddhist Sanctuary at the Kunawong House Museum. It is a concrete building with a gable roof that houses a Buddha image from the Sukhothai period, arranged together with a Buddha image from the era of King Rama IX of Rattanakosin, created by Chakrabhand Posayakrit and Chalermchai Kositpipat. Opposite the main Buddha statue is a high relief sculpture of the Buddha descending from the Tavatimsa Heaven, made a replication from the southern niche (usually placed a Buddha Image) of the mondop at Wat Traphang Thong Lang in the old city of Sukhothai, from the Buddhist centuries 1890-1911. In front of and on the doors of the Buddhist Sanctuary, new sculptures were specially created by Chatmongkol Insawang. Apart from general visits, those devoted to Buddhism can also come to worship.
